AMERICAN BAPTIST FOUNDATION
REPRESENTATIVES FOR MID-WEST AND NEW ENGLAND: (11/29/07)
The American Baptist Foundation is the denomination’s center
through which planned gifts that result from estate planning are
generated. These charitable gifts support American Baptist ministry and
mission nationwide and around the world. We are
seeking two highly motivated, dynamic Field Representatives: one to
serve in the states of Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio; the other
in New England.
Responsibilities: (1) Work with American Baptist churches and the members of their congregations to encourage them to join the Foundation by making planned gifts; (2) Increase the gifts from those who are Foundation members already; (3) Interface and coordinate with Executive and Area Ministers to ensure high visibility for the Foundation and strong cooperation among churches and pastors, resulting in maximum participation in the Foundation’s work; (4) Conduct estate planning/planned giving seminars for congregations and individuals, and provide direction and assistance to individuals and their advisors in their charitable giving; and (5) Keep abreast of changes, impacts and trends in planned giving and estate planning through prescribed professional development opportunities.
Education, Experience and Competencies: General understanding of the American Baptist Churches USA and its polity is essential. Bachelors degree required, Masters in related field preferred. Experience in management/sales of financial products and services and some familiarity with planned giving instruments including their legal/tax aspects is desirable. Strong people, presentation and organizational skills. Ability to work independently from home office – planning 50% travel, meetings, seminars and follow-up and filing reports.
Compensation: Competitive
compensation package including employer paid contributions to a 403b
